For me it’s ok to twist the truth
just a little in a non-fiction book. The reason I say this is because the word “fiction”. Yes it has to have some facts or else there’s
no point in the difference. If they’re small changes that’s fine real life
needs a push to be eye grabbing for anyone to care to read about it. For
example a conversation here or there that never happened to move the plot along
is ok
Some
People say otherwise, they say that for it to be labeled “non-fiction” that it
has to be 100% TRUE. But where is the fun? Who wants to read day to day life? I
understand if it’s a war story or a big accomplishment or somebodies epic
journey to somewhere magnificent. But if
it’s just about some celebrity it’s not worth my time or anyone else’s. I think
non-fiction is one of the hardest genres to write considering it has to
actually happen. Most of the non-fiction I read is mainly dealing with social issues
and how they impact the community and the lives of others.
So I believe
its ok to make up something’s in order
to benefit the story.
